Other World Computing Opens New Nevada Facility For Enhanced Order Processing & Fulfillment

Thursday, September 6th, 2012 | Author: OWC NewsFeed

Well known for offering one of the industry’s largest online catalogs of Mac and PC products, Other World Computing announced today the opening of a new distribution center in Henderson, NV, for enhanced order processing and fulfillment. The recipient of numerous awards for its customer service, OWC previously served all of its customers from its Woodstock, IL headquarters. With the addition of the new facility, OWC will broaden its distribution capabilities and flexibility for the greater benefit of its customers in the US and around the globe.

Expanded Order Processing with Fast Delivery

Focused on not only meeting but exceeding the expectations of its growing customer base, OWC’s new distribution center can process 1.2 million orders a year. This capability enhances its ‘no package left behind’ policy even when severe weather may prevent normal shipping operations at the headquarters facility.

Maintains Commitment to Environment

Like OWC’s facilities in Woodstock, IL, which received Platinum Certification in Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) from the US Green Building Council, the Henderson facility maintains OWC’s commitment to the environment. To conserve energy, the building incorporates skylights for natural lighting. Shipping supplies are reused wherever possible and all new shipping materials are 100 percent curbside recyclable. More than 95 percent of all waste materials are also recycled.

Focused on the Customer

To ensure customer satisfaction before, during and after the sale, OWC provides free lifetime support including 24/7 chat and US-based phone tech support in addition to email tech support. The company also offers an online library of more than 200 step-by-step ‘how-to’ videos. The installation guides, which are available free of charge to anyone who visits the OWC site, have generated more than 2.2 million views.

Our customers’ satisfaction is our primary business objective,” said Larry O’Connor, Founder and CEO of Other World Computing. “It is exciting to open this new distribution facility which will expand our fulfillment operations to serve our growing customer base around the world. This expansion is a continuation of OWC’s commitment to providing an unrivaled customer experience to enjoy our highest performance, highest quality products.

Does the Henderson facility have any level of LEED certification?

    • OWC Michael says:

While we have extended our green philosophy to our new warehouse location via our recycling efforts, our zero waste initiative, and energy conservation practices – we have not actively sought any LEED certification level at this time. As this facility has just recently come “on-line”, we may employ other future green initiatives that would allows us to seek the highest certification level possible. As always, stay tuned to the blog for announcements on this subject.
