When is the Qx2 going to have USB3?

      I want 16TB FW800, USB3.

Hey – why not chuck in Thunderbolt if you are upgrading USB anyways??

8 bay might be good at some stage, but the upgrade to your current truly exceptional, reasonably priced products would be appreciated.

    2. Jim says:

Thunderbolt. Thunderbolt, thunderbolt, thunderbolt, thunderbolt. Thunderbolt? Thunderbolt! Thunderbolt?! THUNDERBOLT!

      p.s. thunderbolt

    3. MaX says:

Great. Please, bring also the 2 x Thunderbolt + USB 3. Thanks.

    4. DCJ001 says:

The article says, “delivers data transfer speeds up to 300MB/s.” But the specifications for the drive enclosure say, “USB 3.0 – Up to 500MB/sec.”

      Which statement is correct?

      • OWC Grant says:

We’re correcting that spec right now…. the USB 3 chipset used at the moment goes to up 300MB/s

        • MaX says:

Well, some product pages still read: 500MB/s via USB 3.0.

Is that 2nd generation USB 3?

          • OWC Grant says:

Hi Max…the Elite pages have all been corrected to read 300MB/s.

Other OWC and NewerTech products use different USB 3 chipsets which can offer a theoretical maximum speed of 500MB/s.

keep in mind that if these storage solutions are hard drive based, the interface, regardless of chipset, is maxing out the speed of the drive anyways.

Sure, nice to know you’ve got the power under the hood….if drives evolve to take advantage of such.
