Newer Technology Introduces the NuGuard KX Kinetic Energy X-Orbing Protective Case for Apple iPhone 4/4S and iPhone 5 Models

Newer Technology, Inc. announced today the NuGuard KX, a kinetic energy X-Orbing protective case for the Apple iPhone 4/4S and iPhone 5 models. Backed by a Lifetime Warranty, the NuGuard KX offers test certified military-grade protection for the iPhone without sacrificing style or adding significant bulk. The NuGuard KX will be shown in Other World Computing’s booth #5812, LVCC North Hall, at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES), which begins tomorrow in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Extreme Protection with Minimal Bulk

Unlike common military-impact test grade iPhone case materials, the NuGuard KX uses state-of-the-art X-Orbing gel technology to absorb and evenly distribute kinetic energy to protect an iPhone from accidental drops or scratching. This hyper-advanced gel is then engineered into a hard outer shell with a soft interior, bonded together into a stylish and effective one-piece design. The NuGuard KX is Quanta Laboratories certified to withstand Shock Test Method of the MIL-STD-810G U.S. Military Standard for X-treme protection that still easily fits in your pocket. And its Edge Guard over-molding provides enhanced iPhone screen edge protection without interfering edge to edge touch finger accessibility to ensure hassle free touch keyboarding, drag and organize app icons from screen to screen, etc.

Protection That Doesn’t Compromise Convenience

With its precision cutouts, the NuGuard KX allows for full access to all of the iPhone’s ports and buttons. The backside of the KX features a crosshatch texture design for added grip that doesn’t make it hard to remove from pockets like other texturized cases. With its one-piece design, installing an iPhone into the KX is an easy, several seconds process.

X-treme Drop Test Videos Prove Effectiveness

To prove its effectiveness, Newer Technology created a video demonstrating the protective qualities and durability of NuGuard KX in extreme use scenarios. To document Quanta Laboratories’ Mil-Spec certification, the recognized and required Method 516.6 Procedure IV (Transit Drop) test from 48 inches was recorded. Next, a NuGuard KX protected iPhone 5 was dropped from 20 feet – five times higher than the Mil Spec test height – from warehouse racking onto a concrete floor. Finally, the ultimate X-treme test… an iPhone 5 safely ensconced in a NuGuard KX was dropped from Other World Computing’s on-site wind turbine.

Get Total Confidence with Lifetime Warranty

In addition to protecting the iPhone, the revolutionary NuGuard KX provides ultimate peace of mind ownership. The best-engineered case deserves the best possible warranty, so the NuGuard KX is backed by a best-in-class full replacement Lifetime Warranty.

Pricing, Availability, and Colors

The NuGuard KX protective case has an MSRP of $49.95 and is available for immediate ordering in eight color combinations: Trooper (white body and black trim), Roulette Red (red body and black trim), Midnight (blue body and black trim), Buzz (black body and yellow trim), Darkness (black body and black trim), Rose (pinkish-red body and white trim), Nubar Forest (green body and black trim), and Eagle Shield (tan body and green trim).

“As the technology of the iPhone reaches new levels, we feel that it deserves a new level of protection,” said Grant Dahlke, Brand Manager, Newer Technology, Inc. “The NuGuard KX not only provides military-grade protection against drops and scratches with its unique X-Orbing gel, it also minimizes bulk so an iPhone can still easily fit and slide into a pocket or purse.”

  • Do you have any promotional images using a white iPhone? All of the images thus far use a black iPhone. Would really like to see how the cases look with the white iPhone. Thanks.

  • The drop test videos might be showing that screen protector was installed. There appears to be what looks like bubbles at the top of the screen. Look quick or pause the video. Can anyone confirm?

More bubbles at 4:30 on the youtube video after dropping from the wind turbine. Screen protector Yes?/No?

    • Actually, we were so excited to do this video that we didn’t wait for our no-contract iPhones that we usually test, demo, and film with to arrive.

So, we actually used our CEO’s personal iPhone for these and it happened to have a screen protector installed previously and we didn’t remove it before throwing it out of our wind turbine.

  • Does this have a shield for the front of the iPhone (and rear camera area) to prevent it from being scratched?
