OWC Introduces 128GB Memory Upgrade Kit For Latest Apple Mac Pro, Offers Up To Double The RAM Vs. Factory Maximum Offered

PR_2013MacPro_128GBOther World Computing today officially expanded its MaxRAM Certified Upgrades to include up to 128GB memory upgrade kits for the latest AppleMac Pro 2013 6-Core, 8-Core, and 12-Core models. The new OWC 32GB modules and matched kits up to 128GB, are Fully Tested, Qualified, and MaxRAM Certified for the most demanding applications and are backed with a Money Back Guarantee and OWC’s Lifetime Advance Replacement Warranty.

OWC ‘MaxRAM’ 32GB Module Based Kits Offer Up to Double Factory Maximum RAM:

Special Note: While current DRAM device technology limit 32GB modules to a 1066MHz memory clock in the Apple Mac Pro 2013, due to enhanced CAS Performance of OWC MaxRAM 32GB Modules, actual real-world performance is insignificant in low memory need scenarios while offering incredibly significant performance gains in all cases where application use benefits from greater than 64GB of total memory installed.

Savings Up to 48% Versus Same Sized Factory RAM Upgrades

OWC, first to offer third party memory for every Mac Pro since 2006, also offers 4GB, 8GB, and 16GB 1866MHz options for 2013 Mac Pro with savings of up to 48% compared to same sized factory upgrades:

Note: 16GB and 32GB modules for Mac Pro 2013 are Registered; they can be combined with each other, but cannot be mixed with standard 4GB and 8GB modules. However, 4GB and 8GB modules from OWC and Apple can be mixed and matched with each other. *Savings comparison based on Apple Store memory upgrade pricing as of March 26, 2014.

For a complete list of all OWC Memory Upgrades for the Apple Mac Pro 2013, see: eshop.macsales.com/shop/memory/Mac-Pro-Memory – 1866-memory.

To assist both existing and new model Mac Pro owners in selecting the correct memory upgrade for any Mac Pro model, OWC has created an easy to use guide that shows the correct memory type and options specific to each of the different Mac Pro models. Performance Gains for Memory Hungry Applications

The best memory performance is observed with sets of four (4) matched modules of Apple specification RAM installed, however, OWC’s in-house performance testing has shown a negligible difference in real-world performance when using other configurations. Additional memory is the most cost effective way to increase performance. And, for applications needing more than Apple’s current factory maximum of 64GB of total memory, users will see improved performance gains with more memory provided by OWC 32GB module options.

OWC MaxRAM® Memory Upgrades Offer Up to Double the Factory Maximum RAM

Mac users want choices, and the new OWC 32GB modules provide that,” said Larry O’Connor, OWC Founder and CEO. Upgrading with our 32GB modules makes future upgrades to 96GB or 128GB more economical because it eliminates the need to replace modules. And with our Apple factory/OWC RAM trade-in program, we’ll give you credit for your original 4GB, 8GB and 16GB modules to save you even more money.”

More Savings Available with OWC Rebate Program

After upgrading with an OWC Apple Mac Pro 2013 Memory Option, customers can save even more with OWC’s Trade-in Rebate for the original factory memory. Receive up to $500 for Apple factory or OWC modules removed from any Mac Pro 2013 model. For complete details, see: eshop.macsales.com/tech_center/support/rebates/memory.cfm.

  • So you are making 2.5″ SSDs that a 7mm now? What is the purpose of the smaller size?

    • The industry is heading toward the thinner size as people gravitate toward thinner laptops and portable external storage enclosures. There is no loss of use, as we’ll be offering a bumper that maintains the 9.5mm profile for any application where the drive is friction fit rather than screwed in.
