Trailer for ‘Steve Jobs: The Man in the Machine’ Documentary Released

Steve Jobs: The Man in the Machine - Magnolia PicturesMagnolia Pictures has released the first trailer for the upcoming Alex Gibney documentary “Steve Jobs: The Man in the Machine.” The movie will open on Sept. 4, 2015 and has already churned up some controversy. After the movie’s premiere at SXSW 2015 in Austin, Texas this spring, Apple senior vice president of internet software and services Eddy Cue tweeted his displeasure in how the film portrayed Jobs:

“Steve Jobs: The Man in the Machine” is based on actual footage of Jobs over the years, interspersed with interviews with friends, business associates, and enemies. It’s the only documentary in the current crop of Jobs-related movies; the others include a comedic take on his story with “iSteve“, the largely forgettable “Jobs” with Ashton Kutcher as the Apple co-founder, and the upcoming movie “Steve Jobs” with Michael Fassbender, Seth Rogen, Kate Winslet, and Jeff Daniels. The latter movie is based on the Walter Isaacson biography of the same name.
