It was 44 Yrs Ago Today: Star Trek first aired

Wednesday, September 8th, 2010 | Author: OWC Grant

Did you know today is the 44th anniversary of the very first aired segment of Star Trek?

The Man Trap was the first episode to be shown on NBC and was preceded by two pilots, the first of which…believe it or not…didn’t have William Shatner as Captain James T. Kirk.

As you might have deducted, we take Star Trek pretty seriously here…perhaps since it provided the inspiration for the company now known throughout the Mac universe as OWC.

But we’ve been known to have some fun with our affinity for space…even in the wee hours of the morning.

Fun with space themes only goes so far though as I’ve suggested some product names and derivatives of such from time to time that OWC Larry had to nix since they could be associated with some things you just don’t want to mess with.

So here’s to boldly going into your Mac and upgrading it for warp performance…and to Mr. Roddenberry for some great vision.

One of my favorite shows growing up… Was in reruns and can’t say how many times saw each episode. :)
