Use an old hard drive for handy external storage.

Eventually, you’re going to want or need to upgrade to a new computer. Between software requirements increasing and/or damage or malfunctions, a new computer is eventually going to be something you need to consider.

When you get a new Mac, you need to figure out what to do with the old one. Donation is one option. Repurposing it is another, if it works. If it isn’t working, you can always part it out.

Whatever you do, you’ll want to hang on to the hard drive. Even a 40GB drive is still 40GB of useful storage. Why not make use of it by putting it into an external case?

OWC has a numerous enclosures with a wide array of features. Whether your drive is 2.5-inch or 2.5-inch, PATA or SATA, we’re sure to have an enclosure to suit your needs.

Don’t know what kind of enclosure to get? We can help there, too. This quick little guide will get you pointed in the right direction.
