As the snowy weather has showed us this week here at Other World Computing headquarters in Woodstock, Ill., winter isn’t quite finished yet. And as we – and much of the U.S. – brace for Winter’s final act, NuTouch Gloves have hit the road to show just how handy they can really be.
Newer Technology’s NuTouch Gloves were one of just a handful of products that were selected from thousands by CEA to be included in its annual Digital Answer Man Tour. The tour aims to educate consumers and showcase the newest and best products in the industry on TV, radio, in newspapers, and other media outlets. The tour will hit more than 50 media markets across the country, so there’s a good chance it will be appearing in near you.
NuTouch Gloves are featured on the tour among other major tech products such as the Apple iPad mini, Samsung Galaxy Note, Microsoft Surface, Google Nexus and a select few others.
What makes NuTouch Gloves so popular and a deserving addition to the Digital Answer Man Tour is their special conductive fiber that’s woven into all 10 fingertips. This allows you to tap, swipe, and scroll on all touch screen devices – even type on full-size touch screen keyboards – with any finger all while keeping your hands toasty warm.
So tune in to the Digital Answer Man Tour and get a look at how NuTouch gloves can add comfort and convenience to your digital lifestyle!

Elite, Extreme, Pro…those are just a few of the descriptive terms found in many of our products’ names. We use them because we push the envelope past what’s commonly available because we know that’s what you’ve come to expect from us.
While the OWC Blog is mostly centered on news about products, Mac teardown tips & findings, and industry news, we do occasionally cut loose and have some fun. But, that fun is also taken to the extreme to honor that “work hard, play hard” phrase.
Most nights at CES, the OWC team eats dinner right after the show closes and then we hit our rooms to do, as I say, our “day jobs”. This year, I knew I had to make some time to make one night an extreme adventure. Article Continues…
Just because the busy 2013 edition of the International CES is in our rear-view mirror doesn’t mean it’s time to rest for Team OWC. After introducing a bevy of new products at the expo last week in Las Vegas, we’ve already begun preparation for Macworld | iWorld expo!
The expo will run from January 31 to February 2 at the Moscone Center in San Francisco, and Other World Computing will be there in Booth 401 showing off all the new products that we announced at CES, and much more. If you plan on attending, free expo passes are still available so you can get a up close and personal look at our new items such as:
• Power2U 20 Amp model (Plus, if your phone or USB device is running low on power, you can charge up while you chat!)
• Mercury Viper
• NuMount Pivot wall mount and desk mount
• NuGuard KX
• Pad Protector mini
All these will be on display along with many existing storage and accessory products from OWC and Newer Technology. And we’ll also be showing our video of a NuGuard KX-protected iPhone surviving an extreme drop from our on-site wind turbine.
So stop by and see all the new tech goodies while talking all things Mac with our expert tech team!
Newer Technology, Inc. announced today that the NuGuard KX, a kinetic energy ‘X-Orbing’ protective case for Apple iPhone 5 and iPhone 4/4S models, was named a winner in the Beatweek Best of Show awards for 2013 International Consumer Electronics Show (CES).
Beatweek’s on-site editorial team presented awards to the most innovative new consumer tech products among the tens of thousands of new products introduced in various categories by the thousands of vendors exhibiting at CES. The Beatweek Best of Show 2013 awards will be included in the next issue of Beatweek Magazine to be released on Tuesday, January 15.
“We’re thrilled that the NuGuard KX has been recognized by Beatweek with a Best of Show award,” said Larry O’Connor, President, Newer Technology, Inc. “With the NuGuard KX’s certified protective qualities and slim, easy-to-install one-piece design, this award truly reflects its innovative features.”
It may not be spring yet, but that hasn’t stopped the folks here at Other World Computing from feeling especially green this week.
Aside from our Platinum Certified green headquarters in Woodstock, Illinois, OWC also strives to make products that have a minimal environmental impact. And a new feature shared with media and attendees at this year’s International CES exhibit – the 2013 International CES Green Guide – recognizes some of OWC’s “green” innovations.
Among the products featured in the 2013 International CES Green Guide are the Newer Technology Power2U AC/USB Wall Outlet and the NuGreen LED Desk Lamp. The Power2U was featured for its Smart Power design only that outputs enough charging power required by the attached device and spring-loaded Safety Shutters that turn power off to the USB ports to eliminate “vampire” energy draw when a connecting cable is removed.
The NuGreen also was highlighted for its efficiency. The NuGreen uses only 3.6 watts total power, saving both money and the environment. The NuGreen’s LEDs last up to 45,000 use hours – up to 22 times longer than tradition bulbs – and can be recycled because they contain no mercury.
The International CES Green Guide a self-guided tour of each exhibit hall to highlight the green and environmentally-friendly products, and OWC is one of just a handful of companies out of thousands in attendance to be featured. The technology-related trade show began Jan. 8 and runs through Jan. 11 at the Las Vegas Convention Center in Las Vegas.
