OWC Accelsior PCI Express Solid State Drive Wins Gold Stevie Award at 2012 American Business Awards

Other World Computing today announced that the OWC Mercury Accelsior PCI Express SSD won a Gold Stevie — the highest honor awarded — in the “New Product or Service of the Year – Computer Hardware” category at the 2012 American Business Awards awards ceremony held in San Francisco September 17. First announced at the 2012 Consumer Electronics Show as the industry’s first fully Macintosh and PC supported and bootable PCIe SSD, the Mercury Accelsior offers nearly 3x the performance vs. a SSD in a SATA 2.0 3Gb/s drive bay with well beyond even 6Gb/s speeds of up to 780MB/s.

Named Best In Category By Industry Professionals

More than 3,000 nominations from organizations of all sizes and in virtually every industry were submitted this year for consideration in a wide range of categories, including the New Product or Service of the Year – Computer Hardware category. More than 150 members of 10 specialized judging committees determined the Stevie Award placements from among the finalists during final judging. Voting Now Open for NewerTechnlogy Power2U and OWC Accelsior PCI Express SSD for “People’s Choice” in the 2012 American Business Awards

This year, both the (NewerTechnlogy Power2U AC/USB In-Wall Charging Solution) and the (OWC Mercury Accelsior PCI Express SSD) were named as a finalists for the 2012 American Business Awards “New Product or Service of the Year” category.

More than 3,000 nominations from organizations of all sizes and in virtually every industry were submitted for this year’s competition in more than 49 categories. Finalists, chosen by more than 140 business professionals, were announced in May, and winners will be announced at a September awards banquet. But YOU can vote on what you feel should be the People’s Choice in these categories, a special honor determined solely by online consumer voting. People’s Choice winners will receive special honors at the ABA ceremony in September.

It’s Easy to Vote

Online voting for the People’s Choice Stevie Awards for Favorite New Products starts today, and will conclude at 11:59 pm ET on August 29.

To vote for the NewerTech Power2U, (click here to register your vote) in the “Favorite New Consumer Electronics”  category.

To vote for the OWC Mercury Accelsior PCI Express SSD, (click here to register your vote) in the “Hardware – Computer”  category.

You can vote a total of one time in each of the categories, per email address. After your first vote, you will be asked to complete a registration form with your name, email address and telephone number. The American Business Award program, created in 2002 and nicknamed “The Stevies”, is the only business awards program in the United States that honors and generates public recognition of corporate and executive achievements worldwide. The Stevie Award trophy is often called “the business Oscar”, because it is hand-cast and finished in 24-karat gold by the same company that creates the Oscar.
