As we’ve showed you in the past, there are plenty of ways to break your iPhone. Admittedly, some ways are more common than others (most people tend to text while walking slightly more than they breakdance).
So how exactly are people breaking their iPhones? SquareTrade released some statistics on how the devices have been meeting their premature demise over the years. They’ve confirmed our rampant walking-and-texting habit by finding the No. 1 reason to be the iPhone “fell out of my hand”. (We have yet to confirm where “fell out of my wind turbine” ranks.) And 24 percent of owners either had their iPhone fall from their lap or knocked from the table. This is a significant portion of accidents, but these kinds of things just happen.
A separate study by mobileinsurance.co.uk illustrates the top reasons why these broken iPhone screens are often left unfixed:

Sometimes when you run into a problem with a device, the simplest solution is the right one.
Recently, I bought a new entertainment center for my living room. It holds my TV, router, and my Apple TV among other things. The problem is, all the devices sit relatively low on the unit, almost at floor level.
It looks good and reduces clutter around my TV, but it created a problem with the Apple TV. It wasn’t working consistently. The IR sensor wouldn’t read signals from the Apple Remote.
Obviously, I thought something was wrong with the Apple TV. First I checked controller in remote, and it was fine. Then I checked for system updates and restarted it. My many years of experience with a computer told me that restarting it definitely should have worked. Nothing.
NewerTech announced today its new NuGuard KX protective case for Samsung’s Galaxy S4 smartphone. The NuGuard KX is a remarkably thin, exceptionally lightweight, and highly durable case that combines protection with style and uninhibited functionality. NewerTech’s latest KX model is available for $29 in Blue and Black. Both feature a black Edge Guard face frame and a full replacement Lifetime Warranty.
Extreme Protection Without Bulk
Leveraging the features that have made NewerTech’s award-winning NuGuard KX case for the iPhone and iPad so popular, the NuGuard KX case for Galaxy S4 has a slim, one-piece design that fits the Galaxy S4 like a glove but can be installed in seconds and easily uninstalled for access to the S4’s removable rear cover.
Protection That Doesn’t Compromise Convenience
The NuGuard KX for Samsung Galaxy S4 features a tough, comfort-grip outer shell bonded to a soft core of advanced, made-in-the-USA X-orbing gel. This unique gel provides the ultimate in protection against accidental drops, dings, and impacts by absorbing and distributing the kinetic energy that occurs with these mishaps. With the distinctive cross-hatch texture design on KX’s back side, Galaxy S4 users will have a better grip on their phones, yet unlike some texturized cases, the KX-encased phones slide easily into and out of a pocket.

It’s always there for you—it helped you out that time you and your friends got in a heated debate over who won the Stanley Cup in 1984, that time you needed to take a video of yourself trying to drink as much milk as possible in 10 minutes, and provided a wonderful distraction during that awkward weekend you spent in Vermont with your girlfriend’s parents. Sometimes it even shares your bed.
But too often we take it for granted—we throw it around, yell at it, and sometimes we even let it die (the battery, that is…we’re not monsters). So what better time than Valentine’s Day to show your device that it is in fact loved and appreciated? Unfortunately our devices typically don’t enjoy flowers, diamonds, or even giant teddy bears. But luckily for you, OWC has the perfect gift idea—give your device the warm embrace of a NuGuard KX for Valentine’s Day!
With the help of OWC’s new line of NuGuard KX for the iPhone 5C and the Samsung Galaxy S4, you can put a giant smile on your device’s face (I’m sure there’s an app for that). Now’s the perfect time to show your iPhone 5C that you “C” a future together with a new colorful and ultra-protective case. Tell your Samsung Galaxy S4 that you think that it is “out of this world” by keeping it safe from unexpected impact. And don’t forget our already beloved line of KX cases for the iPhone 4/4S and 5/5S, and the iPad mini and iPad Air. Article Continues…
