Apple Updates Mac Lineup With Fresh Airs

Globe-New_MacsIn case you hadn’t heard, Apple quietly refreshed its entire MacBook Air lineup on Tuesday with faster processors and new lower price points across the board.

As rumored, the standard MacBook Air models are now sold with 1.4 GHz dual-core Intel Core i5 processors and 4GB of RAM. Also available are build-to-order options that include a 1.7 GHz dual-core Intel Core i7 processor with up to 8GB of RAM on the 11-inch and 13-inch MacBook Airs.

One surprise however, came in the form of a new, lower price point. The new MacBook Airs are $100 cheaper than the previous generation models. The lowest price point is the entry-level configuration of the 11-inch model at $899 featuring 4GB of RAM and 128GB of flash storage. The 13-inch model starts at $999.

Check out below to get a look at OWC’s unboxing and an inside look at the 11-inch and 13-inch models.

The new MacBook Airs feature the same external design as the pervious generation and boast slightly improved battery performance, but are still without Retina displays.
