Keeping an Eye Toward the Sky On World UFO Day

Globeman-51At Other World Computing, you might have noticed that we like to keep an eye on the sky. But today, you might see a few more heads around your neighborhood pointed upward. That, of course, would be because today just happens to be July 2 – which just happens to be World UFO Day!

As you can probably guess, World UFO Day is a day for people to gather and search the skies for unidentified flying objects (UFOs) and to generally “raise awareness about the undoubted existence of UFOs.”

So, why does it fall on July 2? Legend has it that on the evening of July 2, 1947, (or roughly that date) witnesses in and near Roswell, New Mexico saw an airborne object crash to the ground. The “Roswell incident” has led to rampant controversy and many conspiracy theories on the possibility of extraterrestrial life.

And although we at OWC are not exactly sold on those “conspiracies” (well, most of us aren’t), we’ll definitely be keeping an eye on the sky tonight. You know, just in case…

Happy World UFO Day!
