Apple-1 Originally Sold By Steve Jobs to be Auctioned

apple1OWC has upgrades for just about any Mac dating back to the 90s, but there’s a slightly older Apple computer that’s going up for auction soon that would be quite difficult to fit an SSD or memory upgrade into.

According to a news release from auction house Christie’s, the only known surviving Apple-1 documented to have been sold directly by Steve Jobs to an individual from his parents’ garage will be available for purchase Dec. 11.

The rare Apple-1 is fully operational and has an estimated value of $400,000 to $600,000, but could bring in much more in the auction. The machine will also come with the original checks from the purchase as well as other original documents such as design renderings, bluelines, sketches and diagrams for a proposed Apple II personal computer cabinet.

  • I sincerely hope that Apple brings back some form of that wooden keyboard in the near future.
