  • No news at CES 2015 about SSD for MB Air 2013 and later… Is the development on that halted?

  • This is great, and I will almost certainly buy the 1TB for my 2012 air.

BUT, what I would really like is a Thunderbolt “Envoy” (that is daisy-chainable). Flash is coming down in price, but it’s not so cheap that I can just throw massive SSD’s in all my devices. I would like fast, external memory that I don’t have to “sync,” so I can centralize my core files without needing to sync. That I would buy!

  • Any chance of these working on the new cylinder design Mac Pros, to replace the 256GB ssds currently installed?

  • For those of us that purchased an earlier upgrade and are thinking of going the next step, is there an enclosure to use with the current Aura drive in our MacBook Airs?

    • The OWC Envoy enclosure will only function with the Apple SSD. We unfortunately do not have an enclosure that will work with Aura drives at this time.

      • Why do you expect there to be?

It takes time for OWC to reverse engineer Apple’s new equipment, build-test prototype replacement products and then ramp up production.

OWC doesn’t sell hastily made junk, which is why most of us are there customers in the first place.

        • Well, there was a prototype shown in the beginning of this year, that is why we are waiting for SSD upgrade for MB Air of 2013 and later.

The estimated arrival time was some time Q3 or Q4 this year, I think, so there is still time…

          • Same with the macbook pro retina’s late 2013. A prototype shown early 2013 and still waiting…
