See Filmmaker Cirina Catania at OWC’s Booth at CES 2015!

Whether you’re one of those people loading 100 hours of video a minute to YouTube or creating a spellbinding documentary, it’s not just about shooting with a camera. The key is storing, processing, keeping track of the best content.

Writer, director and producer Cirina Catania will be at the OWC Booth – South Hall, Upper Level, #30572 to give you an idea of what’s involved in creating/saving your material so people can view it later.

January 6-9, 11:30 a.m. – Care and Feeding of a Documentary

Every once in awhile you bump into a story you feel has to be shared with the world.  Kionte Storey – Athlete is definitely one.  The wounded Marine Corporal recovered from physical and mental wounds and found a new set of goals and ideals this independent filmmaker is working into a compelling movie. Cirina will go through the entire creative, workflow, storage and retrieval process she’s learned the hard way and give you insights into how you can use these techniques to make your own documentaries more successful and understand all the storage that is required. Ask her about her workflow in the field, production, post production and challenges of indie movie sales and marketing.

January 6-9, 2:00 p.m. — Managing Movie Media in the Field

Shooting documentaries in the field generates a lot of content and if you’re doing a project alone – or with a limited crew – keeping track of the shoot and managing your media is sometimes more important than great shots. And it’s your time, your money so it’s even more important. You can’t wait to get back to your office to do it all, you do all the logging, sorting on the set, after hours and in the field. Cirina will discuss what she’s learned the hard way to help indie filmmakers be productive and profitable. This is a nuts and bolts discussion of how to produce in the field, media/metadata management, storage and archiving and working with post production staff.
