CES 2015 might be coming to an end today, but the year 2015 is just getting started for OWC.
While we showed off the upgrades and solutions that we currently have to offer this week at the annual electronics trade show in Las Vegas, we also gave a sneak preview of what’s right around the corner and what’s coming later this year from Other World Computing!
New Products Unveiled
OWC’s ever expanding, award-winning SSD line continues to grow as was showed at CES 2015. Our newest addition to our lineup is the Envoy Pro mini, which delivers desktop-class performance in a tiny thumb drive form-factor. But this isn’t your typical thumb drive. The Envoy Pro mini will offer up to 480GB of capacity with USB 3.0 performance that achieves sustained transfer speeds up to an incredible 433MB/s.
And its beautifully crafted aluminum casing is built to last, making it perfect for demanding physical environments as well as demanding workflows. The OWC Envoy Pro mini will be available soon in 120GB and 240GB configurations with a 480GB version to follow and will begin shipping in January.
We also added a new 1TB model of the popular Envoy Pro EX ultra-portable anodized aluminum SSD. At the heart of the bus-powered Envoy Pro EX is an OWC Aura Pro 6G SSD, which offers real world sustained reads up to 436MB/s and writes up to 429MB/s. The blistering fast Envoy Pro EX is available for immediate ordering.
Coming in 2015
CES isn’t just about what’s available now. It’s also about showing off what the future of technology holds. OWC got in the act by demonstrating what is in the works for later in 2015.
The revolutionary new Transwarp was among OWC’s new offerings on display. The software solution redefines traditional hard drive performance by utilizing any SSD as a removable, flexible cache. Put simply, Transwarp will magically bring the incredible performance of SSDs to any high-capacity hard drive. Click here for more details on the innovative new Transwarp software solution.
OWC also had a major reveal on the hardware side for later in 2015. The OWC Viper Pro Thunderbolt SSD external drive with Thunderbolt 2 technology offers sustained speeds up to 1400MB/s, which is ideal for bandwidth-intensive workflows like professional content creation. The Viper Pro Thunderbolt SSD will be offered in two models, the Viper Pro Thunderbolt SSD and Viper Pro Thunderbolt SSD RAID 4 Edition, with capacities up to 8TB.
