Help Make the Planet a Little More Green This Earth Day

recycle-OWC-300When it comes to Earth Day, it’s easy to understand why some people would tend to think big. Earth is a rather large place, after all.

But just because it’s such a large place, it doesn’t mean that small efforts don’t make a difference. And with Earth Day right around the corner – the event celebrates 45th anniversary Wednesday, April 22 – we wanted to share some simple efforts that can be made to help make Earth a greener place on this Earth Day.

Re-use or recycle
Recycling no longer just consists of throwing plastic bottles and old newspapers in a big blue bin. It now extends to the devices we use every day. With more and more tech widely available, there is much more opportunity for old devices to be simply thrown away rather than re-used or recycled.

Here are some great examples of ways to “recycle” tech that we have featured on the Rocket Yard:

Plant a garden
Last Earth Day we showed you OWC’s snack garden. And as our garden has proven, you don’t need much space to harvest plenty of variety. And not only will you benefit from the vegetables you produce, but plants reduce carbon dioxide, produce oxygen and promote a healthy lifestyle for everyone.

It can also help save more money the more you grow! So get started and plant the seeds for a garden project of your own, and the impact it will make will grow in more than one way.
