DIRECTV Apple Watch app: It’s OK to Lose The Remote

DIRECTV Apple Watch App

You’re a DIRECTV subscriber and you’d love to get an Apple Watch, but your significant other thinks that it’s just an expensive toy… Now you have a way to guarantee that you’ll not only have an Apple Watch gracing your wrist in the near future, but have control of what you’re watching on TV as well. Just “lose” your DIRECTV remote (recycle your electronics, please) and tell your fiscally-responsible sweetheart about the new Apple Watch app from the satellite TV provider.

DIRECTV Watch App recording ESPNAs long as you have an Apple Watch, the DIRECTV iPhone app, and an internet-connected HD DVR from DIRECTV, you’re set. From your wrist, you’ll be able to browse your DIRECTV channel guide, the DVR playlist, and other menus that are normally seen on-screen. While browsing movies and shows, it’s possible to see details of programming and then set the content to be recorded with a tap on your Watch.

DIRECTV has a full FAQ page available to answer any questions that may arise about the app and exactly what it does. Don’t be surprised if your dear hubby or wife also demands an Apple Watch after they see this app in action.
