New 15-second Videos Tout iPhone 6 Camera Capabilities

From Apple Ad: Shot on iPhone by Antoine D.

Apple’s latest iPhones — the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus — have some amazing camera capabilities. In order to show off just how impressive some of the camera functions are, Apple has released a set of seven video advertisements to demonstrate slow-motion and time-lapse video. Each of the ads is just fifteen seconds long, ending with the words “Shot on iPhone 6” in black letters on a white background.

The soundtracks of the ads are perfect for what you’re seeing. The videos were taken all around the world and really do a good job of showing off the capabilities of the camera: it uses extra-large 1.5-micron sensor pixels, has a fast f/2.2 aperture, and can shoot 240 frame per second slow-motion. In real time, the camera captures 60 frame per second 1080p (1920 x 1080 pixels) video.

For your viewing pleasure, here are two of the ads. You can view the rest of them at Apple’s World Gallery. First, a seagull flying in slow motion over a breaking wave in Hermosa Beach, California (captured by Araby P.)

The second video takes you on a time-lapse train ride through downtown Chicago (captured by Cocu L.)
