Happy Birthday, Apple! Watch 40 Years of Innovation in 40 Seconds

apple-logo-2It started in 1976 as a three-man team consisting of Steve Jobs, Steve Wozniak and Ronald Wayne, which worked primarily out of a Los Altos, California garage. And in just 40 years, it has grown into one of the world’s most valuable companies.

Today, Apple is celebrating its 40th birthday. And in those 40 years, the company has brought us some of the most influential and ubiquitous hardware and software ever with an incredible 1 billion active Apple devices now in use around the world.

To celebrate its birthday, Apple has put together a simple, upbeat ad featuring a running list of some of those hardware and software hits from the past 40 years and a few misses (sorry, Newton).

The video serves as a fun timeline for those who have been with Apple from the beginning. Check it out below and feel free to share your favorite memories and products from Apple from the past 40 years in the comments section.

Apple’s 40th birthday coincides with its recent iPhone SE and iPad Pro releases, and we expect much more from the company in the years to come.

Happy birthday, Apple. Here’s to another 40 years!

  • Time goes that fast? It seems like yesterday. We grow old that fast? Happy days to all good apples!!!

  • I loved The simple AppleWorks that I usted on the Apple ll! It grave me the tools i needed in both the word processor and spreadsheet without all those other complicated choices I didn’t need. I also used a macro program with it. Can’t remember it’s name. With the few bites the program used it was plenty! Now that program writers have a gigabyte or more they probably use more than they need to! Easier for them, I guess!

  • 40 years of computer progress and Apple illustrates it with text. How retro.
