Apple Opens Lottery for 2016 WWDC Ticket Purchase

WWDC Lottery

Today Apple confirmed what Siri already knew. The company’s annual Worldwide Developers Conference for 2016 will take place Monday, June 13 through June 17 at the Moscone West Convention Center in San Francisco, California. The keynote address from Tim Cook & Co. will be held June 13.

Apple will likely announce the new versions of iOS and OS X, as well as tvOS and watchOS, at the WWDC keynote address. There may even be a surprise hardware release, but rumors have been quiet thus far on that front.

WWDC features more than 100 technical sessions, more than 1,000 Apple engineers, hands-on labs, and the Apple Design Awards. You can register now through Friday, April 22 at 12 p.m. central time for an opportunity to join Apple’s renowned developer community at this year’s conference. Students and STEM organization members can also apply for a WWDC Scholarship to attend.

Tickets purchase will only be offered to those chosen in a random lottery selection. Those lucky enough to be selected will have the option to buy a ticket for $1,599. Those selected will be notified by 5 p.m. Monday, April 25.

For those who can’t attend, Apple will live stream sessions daily and post videos of all sessions throughout the week of the conference. You can watch on Apple’s website or in the WWDC app.
