OWC Aura SSD Upgrade Earns Praise of 9to5Mac, Examiner

PR-OWC-AuraPCIeAs more and more Late 2013 & later Retina MacBook Pro and Mid-2013 and later MacBook Air owners get their hands on the OWC Aura SSD, more and more praise comes in for the only SSD upgrade for those Mac models.

Recently, two tech sites reviewed their experiences with the new OWC Aura SSD and came away impressed with the storage flexibility that it brings.

Jeff Benjamin of 9to5Mac.com had this to say about the OWC Aura upgrade for his Retina MacBook Pro.

On the Aura SSD…
“Yes, finally! MacBook Pro and MacBook Air owners with qualifying machines can come out of the storage dark ages with OWC’s new Aura PCIe flash storage upgrade.”

On the DIY process…
“The actual upgrade process couldn’t have been easier. This is helped by OWC’s handy step-by-step videos, which guide you through the entire install process. When it was all said and done, I had my new SSD installed in less than 15 minutes.”

“As far as ease of use goes, this installation couldn’t have been easier. Most users could probably figure out the install without needing any instructions, but for those who do, OWC has produced a high-quality video tutorial that walks you through the process from beginning to end.”

Marshal Rosenthal of examiner.com awarded the OWC Aura SSD four stars in his review of the upgrade for his MacBook Air. Rosenthal adds that “OWC’s 480GB Aura SSD is designed to not just replace the Apple drive but to ensure a quality use over time,” and once upgrading, “… the result will be a more superior machine to use.”
