OWC Announces Andy Bynum as New Chief Operating Officer

OWC announced the hiring of Andy Bynum as the company’s new Chief Operating Officer. Prior to joining the OWC family, Bynum served as Vice President for several leading technology companies, helping them to reduce overall costs, drive efficiency, and improve new and longstanding business relationships.

In his role as COO, Bynum will be responsible for overseeing a number of areas within OWC including the company’s engineering, product development, manufacturing, customer call center, and more while simultaneously aiding the operational and daily marketing and creative direction of the company.

“OWC’s track record in producing top-notch, innovative, market leading products was a major draw for me wanting to join their team,” stated Andy Bynum. “The company has earned some of the most loyal customers I have ever experienced in my career. I viewed this as a tremendous opportunity for me to utilize my strong entrepreneurial background and help to further strengthen the brand.”

Beginning his career in 1985 as a Commissioned Officer for the United States Marine Corps, Bynum spent a decade specializing in computer and communications system design and implementation before becoming a senior technology consultant for DTE Energy/SIRCO. Following his time working with DTE Energy and the National City Corporation, Bynum served as Vice President of both OpenText/GXS and Freddie Mac before joining Advanced Micro Devices in 2013.

As the company’s Corporate Vice President, Bynum was brought on to the Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) team to help set a proactive, business-oriented IT model while also focusing efforts on consolidation and visualization as well as overall service improvement. In his time with AMD, Bynum helped reduce operating costs by nearly 45% while simultaneously maintaining high levels of service and support to the company.

“Andy is a great fit for the OWC family and fits in perfectly with our company’s culture,” said Larry O’Connor, founder and CEO of OWC. “As we continue our progression of exceptional growth, the experience Andy brings to OWC is exactly what we need to continue carrying out the best, market-leading solutions and service levels that our customers have always expected from us.”
