WWDC 2018: When Will Apple Announce New macOS, iOS 12?

Apple today announced the dates for its annual WWDC conference, with the 29th edition set to be held June 4 through June 8 at the McEnery Convention Center in San Jose, Calif.

Typically, Apple uses the event to show off the first preview of its newest operating systems. It’s expected that the next versions of macOS and iOS 12 will see significant improvements. There is also a chance that Apple could announce new hardware during the keynote on June 4. Registration is now open for developers who hope to attend: developer.apple.com/wwdc/register/

Last year’s WWDC keynote featured major software announcements as well as new hardware.

What do you expect or hope to see at WWDC 2018? Let us know in the comments.

  • OS upgrades have cost me text processors, video players, and all my best games. The price of a Mac Pro means I can’t afford new software every couple of years. Can we have an OS that restores what previous ones took away?

  • Would like to finally see a new Mac Mini mostly. Wish Apple would make a more striped down Mac Pro, something upgradable with a lower initial cost than the Mac Pro. The iMac, as great as it is, is just not for everyone.

  • Brand new Mac mini, Mac Pro & Thunderbolt 3 display as well as WIRED Magic Keyboard with Numeric Keypad & WIRED Magic Mouse 2 for them!

      • Why do you need to go cordless when working with a device two feet away?

Batteries are one of the worst forms of e-waste out there. I for one do not like producing needless waste. Meanwhile rechargeable batteries are rendered inconvenient with their constant discharge when not in use, always dead when one goes to put them in.

      • When someone drops a Mac on your desk to troubleshoot, it’s much more convenient to have a wired keyboard/mouse.

      • Apple’s Wireless mice and keyboards don’t work so well with a KVM switch. (Actually, they don’t work at all.)

  • I would like to see new MacBook Pro hardware that supports 32GB or 64 GB of ram. Having an high-powered mobile system is critical for my video-editing.
