OWC Reintroduces Powerhouse Envoy Pro mini Line

OWC has reintroduced its line of OWC Envoy Pro minis. Resembling a thumb drive, the Envoy Pro mini is, in fact, the desktop-class SSD that fits in a pocket, offering reliable performance in a go-anywhere design. Elegant, light and strong, the Envoy Pro Mini is perfect for life on the go, whether composing music, creating movie magic, serving as IT hero, or storing essential documents and presentations.

OWC has updated the Envoy Pro mini powerhouse to deliver lightning-fast performance for both Mac and PC users, even during heavy demand usage. There is a lot inside the sleek aluminum body, with tech from desktop SSDs packed into the pocket-sized workhorse. And with SSD performance up to 450MB/s users will find the mini to be a trusted digital companion.

“Filmmakers and musicians often stop by at events such as NAB, and especially NAMM, to tell us how much they love their Envoy Pro mini,” said Larry O’Connor, OWC Founder and CEO. “They love the capacity and the speed, they take it everywhere they go, and they’re going to really love this updated version.”

Key Features:

  • Desktop-class performance and capacity
  • Capacities: 120GB, 240GB, 480GB, 1.0TB (Coming Soon)
  • Fast USB 3.1 Gen 1 interface
  • Mac and PC compatible
  • Updated with greater performance and affordability
  • 3-year OWC limited warranty

The Envoy Pro mini comes with a USB extension cable and a lanyard that allows users to wear it for even easier access and portability. The complete line is available at MacSales.com as well as through additional online retailers and in stores.

  • I love mine. Use it to shuttle files between work and home. 1 failed, but OWC replaced it right away.
I hope they tweaked the design so the end closest to the plug is tapered. Right now, it blocks access to adjacent ports on a horizontal plane like laptops have. Only drawback I have found. Otherwise it is brilliant.

  • I had two of the older model fail on me. :( However, while they worked, they were fast and a fantastic tech tool as a boot drive.

I hope these are more reliable; OWC did take both my failed units back with no trouble, so they do support their products.

  • Great, but bring it with USB 3.1 Type-C reversible Generation 2 (10 Gbps). I guess a Thunderbolt 3 model would be too much to ask for…
