  • What’s the difference between this and the 13 port Mac only dock? FireWire and $60? All the ports of the 13 port dock including FireWire seems to work fine for me with a PC and Windows.

    • Am I correct in understanding that you have tried the Firewire-equipped dock successfully with a Windows machine? If so, which model and which OS?

      • OWC Thunderbolt 3 Dock with FireWire Port connected to a GA-Z170X-Gaming 7 running Windows 10 Pro using the latest drivers downloaded by Driver Genius 18. The driver for the FireWire controller of the dock is “LSI 1394 OHCI Compliant Host Controller” from Microsoft, 2006-06-21, Driver version: 10.0.17134.1 (WinBuild: 160101.0800). The driver is located at C:\Windows\system32\DRIVERS\1394ohci.sys

  • Can this charge a MacBook Pro 15″? I.e., can I connect the MBP 15 with a ThunderBolt 3 cable as the only cable connected to the Mac, and then a 5K display to the other ThunderBolt connection on the dock (along with Ethernet, etc.)?

    • Hi, Mike. The OWC Thunderbolt 3 Dock will provide up to 60W of power to a MacBook Pro 15″. If you have any other questions, feel free to reach out to our customer service team.
