  • Disassemble an ENTIRE computer to the last screw just to install a simple blade SSD is just one of many many strong reasons why I NEVER buy iMacs or any all-in-one Apple desktop Macs. If I can’t easily get into my machine to make upgrade/repairs without the stressful risk of damage, along with convoluted, cumbersome and extensive procedures, then it’s not the machine for me… I’ve been using modular desktop/tower Macs since the IIci all the way to my current Mac Pro tower, all of them heavily upgraded without a hassle and the absurdity of a complete disassembly, tools and the risk of damage just to make a simple add-on upgrade. Since Jobs introduced the Bondi Blue iMac in 1998 I’ve been saying “Screw iMacs!” and always avoid them like the plague. And I’ve owned all kinds of Macs, laptops, minis and pro towers… all good, but never iMacs, ever!
