macOS Catalina Supplement Released

macOS Catalina Update

As with all new operating system releases, macOS Catalina has had a few bugs that slipped through the beta testing process. Today (October 15, 2019) Apple released a macOS Catalina Supplement to resolve some issues.

According to the company, the supplement provides the following enhancements to macOS 10.15 Catalina:

  • Improves installation reliability of ‌macOS Catalina‌ on Macs with low disk space;
  • Fixes an issue that prevented Setup Assistant from completing during some installations;
  • Resolves an issue that prevents accepting iCloud Terms and Conditions when multiple ‌iCloud‌ accounts are logged in;
  • Improves the reliability of saving Game Center data when playing Apple Arcade games offline.

The update is quite easy to install – launch System Preferences and select Software Update. The file is small and quickly downloaded.

Many of the issues that the supplement is fixing appear to be related to the installation of Catalina rather than functional problems…of which there seem to be a few.

If you are experiencing significant bugs in Catalina, consider using our downgrade guide to get your Mac back to Mojave or earlier macOS releases.
