OWC Announces SoftRAID Support for Traditional Chinese Language

OWC has announced the availability of SoftRAID 5.8.3, adding full Traditional Chinese support. The SoftRAID software platform now supports seven languages, which are automatically displayed based on each Mac’s language settings. Additional languages supported include English, French, Spanish, German, Japanese, and Simplified Chinese.

This new update to SoftRAID also includes a workaround to an issue in macOS 10.15 Catalina, which prevents the macOS kernel cache from rebuilding correctly. The issue has been reported to Apple and their team is working on an OS fix.

“We continue to work closely with Apple software and hardware engineers on supporting upcoming technologies,” said Tim Standing, OWC’s VP of Software Development – Mac. He continued “This version of SoftRAID adds faster performance for NVMe SSDs, as well as support for storage devices based on the U.2 standard. Since OWC acquired InXtron, a hardware design and manufacturer in Taiwan, in 2019, we have seen a profound increase in the number of Chinese speaking customers. We wanted to more fully support these customers, so we felt it was important to add support for Traditional Chinese to SoftRAID. I am excited to offer this additional support to the rapidly growing market of film and video professionals.”

The SoftRAID team works constantly to make SoftRAID the most solid, robust RAID solution available. The newest update shows the commitment to improving the software with enhanced features and the ability to fix issues when they arise in software or outside factors.
