More Good News: SGN 6, OWC Updates, and In-Stock Essentials

SGN

some good news (sgn) logo

Last week I shared how I’ve been enjoying John Krasinski’s (The Office, Jack Ryan) “Some Good News” weekly YouTube show – a bright ray of hope for these dreary days. I also said I’d post a reminder when the next episode dropped. Well, it has dropped. (BTW, “dropped” is just industry jargon for “it’s been released.” It’s just more fun to say, and a lot less to type. [Except in this case, of course, because I have wasted far more real estate with all the extra characters in this explanation than I would have if I merely typed “it’s been released” in the first place.])

So, if you could use some levity and light—and can’t we all—check out the video embedded at the end of this post.

OWC Update

I felt a simple SGN reminder wasn’t going to be engaging enough for a readable post—that, and if you blinked, you might miss it—so I thought I’d add some “More Good News” to the mix.

Roughly seven weeks ago, Rocket Yard posted A Response to COVID-19 From OWC Founder and CEO, Larry O’Connor. It was towards the beginning of our nation’s full realization that things were not going well, and we in Illinois weren’t even under a stay-at-home order yet. We reported that things with OWC were stable. Our team members were safe, and our organization was fully operational.

The good news is that this hasn’t changed. We have been heartened to see communities come together, and individuals figure out how to adapt and be just as productive working from home (WFH) as they were in the office. We still maintain our commitment to provide the technologies that make this possible. We continue to design, build, and create and are so thankful we can continue to support others that are doing the same.

We are healthy, safe, and productive – we hope that you and your loved ones are as well.

In-Stock Essentials

In Larry’s post I mentioned earlier, he encouraged us to “Stock What You Need. Leave What You Don’t.” Along these lines, I recently happened upon a resource that I wanted to share with you.

Price.com has launched a dedicated page for COVID-19 to make it easier to find in-stock essentials at the best price. There are still shortages out there, but price.com tracks product availability and prices in real-time, across thousands of stores. You can even set up alerts for hard to find items.

We are all in this together so if you do find Clorox wipes, hand sanitizer, or masks, don’t forget that everyone else has been looking for them too. Please take care, be conscious of others, stay safe, and be well!

As promised, here is Episode 6 of Some Good News! John Krasinski highlights some good news from around the world—including weather from Ryan Reynolds—and sends the class of 2020 off with advice from Oprah Winfrey, Steven Spielberg, Malala Yousafzai, and Jon Stewart. Oh, and Samuel L. Jackson has a nice dramatic SGN re-enactment too!
